I was invited to a friend’s Birthday in the Cotswold’s and so I decided to use the excuse to see a fabulous hotel in a beautiful location.
Just over 2 hours from London and I arrived in the beautiful Broadway at the Lygon Arms.
The hotel has kept its 600 year history intact , with some original fire places and windows , the roaring log fires that kept us warm and the abundance of staff at hand to take your order from a coffee to a glass of champagne.
Dogs and kids are very welcome and a lovely little spa for those who want some time out.
James Martin has his menu at this hotel and it will not disappoint – we had the beef wellington for dinner with creamy leeks and carrots alongside some mash , its making my mouth water even writing about it.
If you like your Gin and Whiskey there is a local distillery to visit and Broadway has its own little shop to buy and taste.
There are lots of little shops , cafes , a deli and a few pubs to keep everyone happy .
The rooms are cozy , with nice furnishings and if you fancy a walk and forget your wellies this is all covered as the hotel can supply you with a pair.
There are some lovely local walks nearby, ( the hotel will provide you with local walk routes) but I'd highly recommend you check out the Broadway Tower!
If you are wanting a cozy, good quality hotel then the Lygon Arms will hit all the spots. You can be single , a family or a honeymoon couple and part of a wedding party ( yes they do weddings too) and you will be carefully and professionally looked after.
The beds are vey comfy , the rooms offer tea and coffee making facilities with nice amenities and linens.
Please contact me should you wish to know more including my next visit onto the lovely Stratford Upon Avon.
